A person needs to be able to shut off the dispenser and hit the emergency stop in an emergency. The red emergency stop button is located at the OPT payment terminal.
Only vessels secured directly to the jetty are permitted to refuel, engines must be turned off.
Being able to act quickly on/off your vessel and will not risk spillage from a tank with excessive movement.
Extinguish all sources of ignitions, such as naked flames, pilot lights, cigarettes and check for loose wires and exposed battery terminals prior to refuelling.
Ensure it will not exceed your safe fill limit. You will need to select a dollar value to authorise to gain this desired volume a dollar value is Volume x cents per litre = approx. value needed to authorise.
Prior to using the Diesel dispenser ensure hoses in good condition, no visible leaks and the dispenser has not sustained any visible damage. When mooring vessel check there are no signs of leaks or spills around the jetty refuelling area.
Ensure Firefighting equipment is in good working condition and available at both the jetty dispensing area and on your vessel.
Only use in an emergency, you can also stop the dispenser by refitting the nozzle back into the dispenser nozzle boot.
A spill containment response bin has been provided in the event of a spill, please use it wisely to contain or clean up a spill around fill points and breathers on your vessel.
Please advise FDWA that the spill bin is to be restocked.
The spill bin is not to be used as a receptacle for general waste.
Wear personal protective equipment to protect yourself from the harmful effects of petroleum products, glasses are highly recommended.
Ensure that you do not re-press the nozzle
